TSPSC paper leak: Students protest in Hyderabad, seek action against Commission chairman
Student union groups, youth wings of Opposition parties demanded immediate reform of the board.

Hyderabad: Protests erupted in Hyderabad on Tuesday after news of a question paper leak during the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) exam was exposed. Several student union groups and youth wings of Opposition parties demonstrated outside the TSPSC office in Hyderabad, demanding action against the TSPSC chairman and immediate reform of the board.
The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) reportedly scaled the boundary wall of the TSPSC office, carrying their flags and raising slogans, while the ABVP state team handed over a petition to the intermediate commissioner of education, urging that no student is harmed by conducting the intermediate examination and valuation without repeating the incidents of the past.
Nine people have been arrested, including a TSPSC assistant section officer, two candidates, and the PA to the TSPSC secretary, who allegedly leaked the question paper for the exam held on 5 March. Five Telangana government employees were among those arrested, and it is alleged that an assistant section officer stole the password of the section officer and copied the question paper onto a pen drive.
The protests continued at Osmania University, with student union groups demanding the cancellation of TSPSC exams and the resignation of TSPSC chairman Jana Reddy. They accused TSPSC of selling jobs and taking bribes from aspirants in exchange for jobs, leaving those who cannot afford coaching centres with no chance to secure employment.

The student unions questioned whether jobs were being offered based on merit or just for the benefit of a select few who could afford to pay for coaching centres. They demanded the immediate suspension of the TSPSC chairman and the formation of a committee to probe the paper leak case. The police were called, and the protesters were detained and taken away.
The protesters clashed with police who had erected barricades and large-scale protests erupted in the city. The BJYM leaders accused the government of playing with the lives of unemployed people by failing to prevent paper leakage. The unions demanded the immediate reform of the TSPSC board and action against those responsible for the leak.
